Let’s face it. Even with the best of intentions we all have lapses along the way to reaching wellness guru status!
If you have overindulged of late, now is the time to buckle back into your healthy rituals and super charge them with a little something extra to cleanse the body and mind to get you back on track.
Try these tips for a whole month to feel the full effects.
1. Ritual
Ritual is deep, deep respect for self. What are the one or two things you can do every day that not only make you feel like you but that create your health and happiness?
It might be a gentle stroll, a morning meditation practice, 3 deep breaths before you brush your teeth, lemon squeezed into warm water of a morning, a practice of gratitude, journaling…choose whatever they are and stick to them.
It may not directly seem like something that technically ‘cleanses’ but you’re essentially cleansing bad habits and daily patterns that don’t serve by replacing them with positive ones- and make them non-negotiables.
2. Journaling
Just as we cleanse our insides of ‘dense’ materials, we can also cleanse the mind of unprocessed thoughts. Spend five to ten minutes at the end of your day writing down the highlights, any thoughts that you’re having in particular.
3. Tongue scraping
This is an ancient Ayurvedic ritual practiced to remove daily build-up on the tongue, which, if left untreated can lead to bad breath and may house a significant number of bacteria (and not the ‘good’ kind).
In Ayurveda, Ama refers to any accumulation of toxic residue in the mind-body. This can result from improper eating, poor digestion, or a reflection of an imbalance somewhere in the gastrointestinal system. It will also help you taste your food more fully.

4. Gut healing cleanse
I recently did a gut healing protocol diet and have never felt better. It was the perfect way to restore my gut health and for a whole month I ate really nourishing and easy to digest food which meant loads of soups and broths.
Soups might sound boring but it was delicious and so easy if I had all my food prep organised. You may not want to do it for a whole month, perhaps a week or two. You’ll definitely notice more clarity and endless amounts of energy.
5. Breath of fire
This is another yogic technique that can be used to cleanse bowels and remove unwanted waste. It’s done by exhaling rapidly from the abdomen consecutively which heats the internal organs, tone the stomach and wakes you up.
Best practiced in the morning, seated with a long spine and relax shoulders. Give yourself a round of 30 rapid exhalations x 3 with a few moments in between.
Yep. Yep. ✌🏼️
